Thinking of this day, my husband was busy talking to my doctor and I was in my tranquil space. I just heard my doctor saying :
“You have a cyst dear! should I operate on it now, as it will be more complicated later”
and I just smiled at her and nodded.
While taking our first picture as a family my nurse said :
“you are starting an exciting next chapter in your life guys, Say “pistachios”!!
As first-time parents, we were so nervous, emotional, admiring our little girl, chanting OM together, she looked so calm and peaceful like she knew us, we couldn’t take our eyes off each other.
During my C-section surgery, my doctor noticed something!
She observed a very large grapefruit-sized cyst on my left ovary, it was 9cm long.
And asked us whether we wanted to operate it now, she explained to my husband about complications and how if I don’t treat it now it might be difficult for me later.
We opted for ovarian cysts removal surgery and my gynecologic oncologist performed an ovarian cystectomy, Typically C-section takes about 45 minutes with Cyst, the removal procedure took no more than 75 minutes. Thankfully my C-section and cyst removal surgery went fine.

Women have two ovaries — each about the size and shape of an almond. These ovarian cysts are fluid-filled pockets in or on your ovary. They’re common, many women will have an ovarian cyst at some point during their live.
Ovarian cysts may be either symptomatic or asymptomatic. Women with symptoms from ovarian cysts typically experience pain or pressure in the lower abdomen on the side of the cyst. This pain may be dull or sharp; it may be constant or come and go. Crampy lower abdominal pain is not usually related to ovarian cysts.
