BEING CONTENT WITH LITTLE

I still remember this day, preparing for C-section.

My mom was here to help me and i was so nervous, anxious and i recalled asking my mother

“Mom i am so scared! Do you have any idea what is going to happen next”

        and her reply was

” I am scared too! I have no idea how a c-section is performed!”

Her reaction was so hilarious, we had a good laugh before my prep.

My Nurse came with a bag of cute crochet caps for me to select for my Little one.

Preparing for my C-section

  • Doc told me to restrict solid foods for eight hours before the C-section.
  • After reaching the Hospital, I was introduced to my Nurse.
  • I bathed with special soap – The goal is to kill bacteria on the skin and reduce the risk of infection following your C-section.
  • Discussed how my incisions would be closed with my obstetricians.
  • Discussed pain management with my Anesthesiologists.

What to expect in the Operating Room

The care team will perform these three steps right before surgery:

  • My Anesthesiologists performed Spinal anesthesia.
  • Foley catheter was inserted, basically it’s a sterile tube used to drain your bladder,
  • Sequential compression device was placed on my legs, which promotes adequate blood flow and prevents blood clots.
